We celebrated our sweet girls FIRST birthday with so many wonderful people! Of course, it was Elmo themed since we can't seem to get enough of our red, furry little guy. I spent a good few hours making Elmo cupcakes that turned out quite good if I do say so myself! Below are some of my favorite pics that wrap up the wonderful celebration of our sweet girl:

Afterward, my entire family headed to Oak Island to finish up the celebration. We rented a cute little beach house that was absolutely perfect - ocean views and a quick 2 minute walk to the beach:
This was our girls first trip to the beach. We had taken her on different trips before, but the trips were always only a few days so we didn't have to pack too much. This time, however, we had to pack a whole weeks worth of stuff. IN A CAR. Holy crap. We couldn't fit everything in our car so we ended up using some space in my parents car. Can you believe it? I have never felt so packed like sardines in my entire life. It definitely made Dave and I realize we need to be doing something about getting a bigger vehicle before our next kid. I am now fully appreciating SUVs!
Anywho - once we got there, we weren't quite sure how our girl would like the place. We unloaded the car (which consisted of us opening the doors and literally falling out, we were so packed) and headed to the beach!
She LOVED it. I think she was so intrigued by all this water, that at first she wasn't quite sure what to do. Once she got used to it, all she wanted to do was crawl right in! We made about 3 trips to the beach each day. She would not take a nap on the beach, so one of us would bring her back to the house for some food and a nap, then head right back out! We spent each night at Sunset Slush, which was our FAVORITE Italian Ice Shop. We got to know the folks quite well and are working on them making a trip back home to bring us some Italian Ice! Haha.We also visited the Aquarium which was absolutely packed with kids from summer camps - it was a bit annoying because you literally could not walk without bumping into someone, so imagine trying to push a stroller! We also didn't even attempt to cruise through their outside part, because they were overloaded with mosquitoes! Besides all that, we had a great time looking at all the fish - she was SO intrigued by all of them! We tried to take as many pics as we could, but a lot of the time we were having too much fun we completely forgot about the camera!

The main theme of vacation was relaxing. I think everyone needed it! The house was absolutely perfect and I hope we get to go back next year. I think this kid will be a beach bum:
